Dear teachers and students, Hello everyone! It’s a great honour for me to stand and make a speech. I will introduce culture of my hometown Zhigu culture. Zhigu is in the east of Tianjin. Its west is Haihe river. Zhigu culture have many different kind. It include history culture, Mazu culture and brewing culture. Zhigu has a long history. It’s known as “Tianjin’s root”. What’s more, it has a saying “Dazhigu came first, then Tianjin Wei. Zhigu’s history started in the Jin Dynasty. In 1214 of the Jin Dynasty, Zhigu was set up as martial town. In the Yuan Dynasty, Zhigu became important part of sea transport. Because Zhigu has good geographical location. So Zhigu’s business also became more thriving. The number of residents has been increasing. And the area developed into Tianjin bit by bit. In the Yuan Dynasty, Zhigu’s sea transport was thriving. Passing fleets brought Mazu culture.
