IL-10 activates the STAT3 signaling pathway in astrocytes and inhibits PKC phosphorylation, thereby downregulating vimentin expression; blocking IL-10 signaling produces the opposite effect. In vivo intervention with IL-10 bidirectionally modulates vimentin expression, correspondingly improving or worsening motor function.
